Q & A for Retreat

What is your rebate policy?

Prior to March 30, a 75% rebate will be available on purchased packages, should you find yourself unable to attend. While I understand that many extenuating circumstances can arise, after March 30, there will be no refunds. You are responsible for finding someone to fill your spot after this date.

Why are room and board separate from the retreat price?

So that you can take advantage of Sheyla’s most affordable travel arrangements from your location to the retreat, we decided to keep the price of the retreat itself separate from travel and meal expenses.

Where are meals served?

All buffet-style, farm-to-table meals will be served at the “Centre de Villégiature”, an 8-minute walk from the Inn.

Can my specific dietary needs be met?

Yes. However, the Inn needs to know ahead of time. My friend Sheyla, your lodging and travel advisor will be happy to take care of this for you once you have registered.

Will I be sharing a room with someone else?

When you book with Sheyla, you get to decide if you want to share a room or have a separate one to allow you time for self-reflection and routine.

What is the weather like there at that time of year?

While it can vary, it is generally warm during the day and cool in the evenings. Check here before packing up to ensure that you have what you need to enjoy the retreat in comfort.

Are there other activities I can participate in while there?

Yes! There are indoor and outdoor opportunities: pool table, ping-pong table, football table, beach and swimming, water activities (generally available between June and September inclusively, depending on the weather), stand-up paddle boarding, Rabaska, canoeing, kayaking, pedal boating, volleyball, basketball, horseshoes, shuffleboard and pétanque, cycling on the bike path network, you may rent bikes.

Will we have down time?

Yes, this can be a very important part of your journey.

What should I pack?

In addition to necessary clothing, you may enjoy your favorite journal or some light reading during your downtime. I’d recommend sunscreen and insect repellent, a rain jacket, hiking boots or sturdy tennis shoes, water shoes, a bathing suit, and a hat to shield you from the sun. A fanny pack or light backpack could come in handy especially for the hike for your water and snacks. As well as an old-fashioned camera so you can make memories without the use of modern technology (cell phone use is discouraged to embrace the full process, except in the case of emergencies). Do I need to be super fit for the hike?

If you can walk comfortably 7 km (4.4 miles) it would be an asset. However, I will offer options if this is challenging for you.

How will I know if I experience a transformation?

You will feel calmer, and more peaceful. It will vary from person to person depending on what your focus is. At some point you will realize that you can hold onto this new level of being, awareness and calm. You will easily be able to use your acquired tools in the face of new challenges.

What if I don’t experience a transformation?

Day 1 - Fireside Chat after supper!
